15-22 may, a week full of tradition: horse fair Jerez, riding and local artcrafts

Have you ever dreamt of joining a real andalusian fair? The horse fair in Jerez is worth more than a short visit. Lots of horses, riders dressed up traditionally, and women in flamenco dress, all mixed up between flamenco music, food and wine.

Arrival on friday evening, with a late dinner, we start the program with a trip to Jerez de la Frontera on saturday.

On sunday you can join us on our local pilgrimage, which is probably different from any pilgrimage you have done before.

salt mines iptuci prado del rey day ridesMonday will be the first day on horseback, and we will be visiting a local winery and finish at the old roman salt mines outside Prado del Rey. Salt is still harvested here like 2000 years ago, and we can visit the little shop/museum.

Tuesday´s ride will lead us to the neighbour village El Bosque, where we can visit the water mill, that is still producing flour and baking it´s own bread.molino el bosque detalle

Our way back on wednesday will pass by the ermitage of Villamrtín, where we will have a tapa of the great iberian ham.

The last day is reserved for a trip to the atlantic coast and a beach ride of 2 hours, through pine woods and along the sand.

A really complete week, including accomodation in twin/double room at a local rural hotel, spanish breakfast, and the program above. 595,- € per person.
